Day 20 Of Ship 30 For 30: Lessons, Benefits & Advice

Time for Champagne! Today's milestone: 20 Atomic Essays on 20 consecutive days shipped to Twitter.

The genius constraints of Ship 30 for 30: size (250 words), time (no more than an hour) and consistency (daily). The secret weapon though is the community of amazing, creative and supportive Shippers.

Twitter is not the cesspool I feared, at least where #Ship30for30 is concerned -- nothing but love, support and useful feedback.

Write what you want to write. Embrace the idea that pops into your head and insists on being written TODAY. You'll have more fun writing it. If there's no joy, consistency will prove elusive.

There's a shit ton of cool things to learn. From how the Twitter Gods work to how to get over yourself. From graphic design to analytics, you will be fed knowledge bombs all month long.

Things I learned about myself: I never run out of ideas. I shouldn't write after noon. I can learn to bully technology instead of the other way around.

The tangible benefits: By all measures (followers, tweets, impressions, engagement) the growth in my stats is eye popping. I have rekindled old friendships because of Ship 30 for 30 and made many new and interesting friends.

This voyage has so exceeded my expectations I have signed up for next month's trip. There's so much more to learn about writing, Twitter, myself and others. I am compelled to keep shipping my way to mastery.
