I decided to work with Mariko in this container because I got an inkling about what my ignorance towards my business numbers was costing me.
Instead of being aware of what my business was trying to tell me when cashflow felt dicey, or I fell short of my launch goals, I used to avoid avoid avoid reality, then hustle my ass off once reality caught up with me.
This kept me stuck in a business model I didn't want to be in, and created a vicious cycle of evidence that told me 'you'll never be able to actually, successfully, transition towards the business model you want for yourself'.
When I decided to join FIWYB, it was because I wanted the knowledge and tools to ditch my drama and fear of what the numbers meant about me, so I could actually hear what my business wanted me to know, and respond accordingly. I’ve been reading Mariko’s (brilliant) newsletters for a while, so when I saw that she’d launched a course on Financial Intimacy, I jumped at the chance to learn from her.
The course was everything I'd hoped for. We learned how to read balance sheets, income statements and cash flows, as well as understanding our individual psychologies, beliefs and stories around money (and how these might be affecting our financials).
I don't know any other course that brings together such a full spectrum approach to money (cash) management. Mariko went above and beyond to accommodate all of us and tailored her lessons to our business models, as well as sharing her extensive experiential wisdom and insights from her own career.
