How To Think Like A Thin Person Without Even Trying
I woke up one morning with a skinny person’s brain.
Up until then I wouldn’t have said I had a fat person’s brain. I did gain weight gradually after I had children and launched my money management firm, but plateaued at a comfortable weight for years.
I could stand to lose a few pounds, but it was no big deal.
I had way too much going on in my life to obsess over a few pounds, I thought. I was stunned when I woke up one day with someone else’s brain: I would eat when only hungry, lusted after low-carb veggies and just wasn’t very hungry. The weirdest thing? I walked by sweets and baked goods with true indifference.
I wasn’t even tempted, and there was no need for willpower.
I was shocked that changing my mindset could be that easy. I also realized that my “food brain” was less healthy than I’d believed, because now there was no emotional eating, no craving carbs, and no talking myself out of junk food.
It was miraculous and I had no idea how it happened.
It was so weird, that if you’d told me I’d been abducted by aliens I’d have thought it possible.
It got even weirder.
I started to WANT to climb the stairs up to my 9th floor office, or get off the subway a couple of stops early and walk the rest of the way home. I even started craving tofu.
Sadly, after a few days, my old brain returned.
But I learned that you don’t have to white-knuckle a change in mindset. Our default thought patterns can be rewired with ease, and I have found that hypnosis can mimic my “brain swap” or “alien abduction” 🤣 experience.
