A Simple Trick For Boosting Your Confidence At Launch

Lucy knows she has impeccable taste.

She is launching her interior design firm after she wraps up a multi-million dollar project working for a famous decorator. She has a crystal clear vision of her future business, but no map of how to reach her destination. Together we are crafting her business launch sequence, to ensure a smooth liftoff.

Psychology trumps tactics at the beginning.

Before she starts Lucy needs to befriend fear of the unknown, fear of failure, and even fear of success. It’s hard to trust our innate wisdom or value our hard-earned experience. We can’t know or excel at all things. Yet we think we should, sabotaging our confidence and  stalling us mid-flight.

If you’re just starting your business, here’s a two-fer exercise that kicks fear of the unknown and fear of failure to the curb:

Write down all the ways in which you’ve seen clients, contractors, vendors f*ck with each other in your industry. See how much you ALREADY know?

You’re not some naive Little Red Riding Hood girl boss walking innocently into the forest. You’ve dealt with wolves before. You’ve got this.

Keep adding to your F*ck List over the years. It’s a helpful reminder that when you know who the patsy is at the poker table, it’s not you. The F*ck List confirms that you are ready to launch, without knowing 100% of the answers (pro tip: no one does).
